About Us

Mercy League Haiti is a faith-based, humanitarian organization intent upon developing innovative solutions to the problems of abject poverty and economic injustice that plague the people of Haiti. Most Haitians are simply seeking to survive the day and have no thought of hope for the future. Mercy League Haiti believes that CHANGE IS POSSIBLE, but people need to see a way forward- they need help to take the first step out of the cycle of poverty. We seek to “restore the way,” giving back to them their God-given rights of dignity and freedom to pursue a life of their own choosing. Our three areas of focus are:
1) Providing children living on the streets of Port au Prince with a safe place to live and vocational training.
2) Assisting already existing orphanages in distress with funding, program assistance, and food aid.
3) Engaging the youth of Haiti in business development by partnering with them in new business ventures and leadership development.
We believe that following Jesus means joining him in championing the cause of the poor and oppressed by walking among them and learning their stories. (Only by allowing ourselves to become AWARE of the plight of the people of Haiti can we be moved to decisive and strategic ACTION.) As citizens of a privileged nation, it is our right and honor to walk with and assist our oppressed brothers and sisters, making available to them the hopes given to us simply by being born.
